How to set up cross-domain tracking

Post by shaownhasan »

Even if you do not set up cross-domain tracking, you can still check data such as chairman email list the number of views. However, because the session is interrupted, information after moving to a page with a different domain will not be displayed in the report. In that case, you will not be able to grasp or analyze accurate data.

This article explains how to set up cross-domain tracking in Google Tag Manager. When setting up with Google Tag Manager, you need to configure measurement settings. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Access Google Tag Manager.
Go to "Tag Settings" → "Advanced Settings" → "Fields to Set".

2. Set the "Field name" to "cookieDomain" and the "Value" to "auto" or "Domain name"

This completes the setup. By default, different cookies are recorded for each domain, but by setting "cookieDomain" and "auto", the cookies will be unified.
