The departure of foreign vendors from the Russian market has "cut" a window of opportunity for Russian information security companies. "On the one hand, it has deprived us, including vendors, of a large number of familiar solutions, and on the other hand, it has created a rapid growth in demand," says Igor Kheresh. "This honduras whatsapp resource makes it possible to replace them if we have the technology and investment. If earlier we noticed this opportunity only in the IT market, now it is actively developing in information security."
According to the results of a survey of IT and information security specialists conducted by RTK-Solar Group, 84% of them plan to switch to domestic means of protection, and 76% will begin implementing it within this year. Despite the high demand, the infosecurity market is very small, RTK-Solar points out, citing TAdviser data - there are only 230 companies. The company predicts that by 2026 the number of Russian players in the information security market will grow by 30%. The growth factors will be a multiple increase in threats to national cybersecurity and increased regulatory pressure. This will also be facilitated by a favorable tax policy for IT companies and a trend towards import substitution.
The recent report by the Center for Strategic Research (CSR) also testifies to the confident process of import substitution in the field of cybersecurity. According to its data, the dominant position of Russian vendors in the domestic market of information security products in 2022 will significantly increase: "They occupy 70% of the market (in 2021 - 61%), while the share of foreign products continues to decline at a significant rate." The volume of the cybersecurity market in 2022 amounted to 193.3 billion rubles, an increase of 4%, CSR estimates. In addition to the growing market available to Russian companies, factors influencing its dynamics include the fact that the security threats themselves are growing, and this is not only due to the "special operation"*, says Dmitry Kalaev, partner of the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF), director of the IIDF Accelerator: "There are more computers, phones and gadgets that can be hacked, the penetration of the Internet is increasing - and therefore the number of problems is increasing. So this is a very interesting and promising market that will continue to grow for a long time."
It is noteworthy that, according to MTS StartUp Hub analysts, in the first half of this year, cybersecurity entered the top three most popular industries in the domestic startup market for the first time - their number in the segment has doubled compared to the whole of 2022. The largest number of startups in Russia, according to MTS StartUp Hub, are still launched in the fintech field (15.6%), another 11.9% are projects in the fields of medicine and health, and cybersecurity occupies 6% of the market.
