Galit Skatepark's one-year anniversary

Last year, on October 30, 2007, the first professional skatepark in Israel officially opened and
completely changed the perception of the skateboarding world in Israel. The skatepark presented facilities of international scale for the first time, and above all, those facilities were made of smooth and pleasant concrete.
This year, hundreds of skaters managed to improve to high levels and reach levels of performance that they would not have been able to reach on a standard street ride. The availability of the skatepark , which is basically all day, also proved itself as a place for dozens of bored teenagers to hang out.
This year, we saw quite a few famous names, the highlight of which is the group of professionals from Vance who came to Israel: Tony Trangilio, Omar Hassan, Angel Ramirez and more... There were also guests from Europe: Mendizbal, Cordona and a few other guys, everyone reacted with admiration when they saw the skatepark and everyone enjoyed riding it.
One of the innovations that everyone enjoys is the pool. Anyone who sees it for the first time shits their pants and doesn't know how to start (that's what happened to me anyway). This facility has never been in Israel and its very existence is a revolution. The pool takes the skater back to the basics, and dealing with the different angles creates a different and enjoyable experience.
As you know, the facility is not intended for cyclists phone number data causes groups that gather there to wait hours to steal turns in the small, remote pool, a sad but inevitable sight. With my own eyes, I have seen serious accidents between cyclists and skateboarders that often ended in tears and blood, but it should be noted that order was usually maintained...
The proximity to the Yad Eliyahu neighborhood also created an integration that was not always positive, sometimes a little beating, a lot of shouting and one gun (the inspector)...
After a year, the skatepark , as mentioned, produced a large number of skaters.
I believe that this skatepark will lead to a long list of top skaters who will compete in European competitions and place Israel in a higher ranking and show the world an Israeli presence.
Thanks to the park, a new branch of Gillis Skateshop opened with all the professional equipment necessary for quality skating. In addition, new friends from the central region and the rest of the country joined Gillis' team.
The birthday session took place on the night of October 30th with good music, a barbecue in front of the audience and lots of beer that made people happy. The session included the whole group of Old Dogs, who rode like crazy until almost four in the morning (!), without a doubt one of the best sessions in recent times... The session featured toasts and shouts, crazy birthday songs and a lot of good humor.
